Melanin - Primary Determinant Of Human Skin Color

By Kunal Rajawat Melanin is the pigment that gives color to our skin, which is influenced by the flow of blood in our body. Melanin is mainly found in skin and hair. It not only exists in human being, but it is even found in plants and animals. It is the most important factor which determines the colour of the skin. If the content of melanin in a persons skin is in profound quantity, then the skin colour of the person is dark. Whereas, less degree of melanin content in the skin can actually makes the skin colour lighter. It even acts as a sunscreen and protects the skin from UV rays of sun. Those people living near equator belt have more melanin content in their skin because of the strong rays of sun than those staying near poles. So, people residing near Arctic and Antarctic region have fair skin than those staying near equator. A cell named melanocytes produce melanin. Basically, melanin is made up of small molecules having different proportions and bonding which result in different types of melanin. Pheomelanin and eumelanin are the two types of melanin found in our body. Fair skin have abundant amount of pheomelanin in their skin. Whereas, eumelanin are basically found among the dark skinned people. Melanin deficiency may leads to genetic disorders like albinism. Whereas dark people with high percentage of melanin in their skin can able to protect sunlight, thus high exposure of sunlight in their body would never stimulate liver to produce sufficient amount of Vitamin D. So dark people can suffer more with Vitamin D deficiency than fair skinned people. Don’t Be Dumb

By Rylee Rider I was sixteen, so was he. He played football, went to a public high school, and loved to write. We talked for a year and I forgot about him. A year later I contacted him again. He had forgotten about me. When I confronted him the story had changed. He was twenty and in college. This was my first experience with an online relationship. The entire year had been lies. I was dumb, so very dumb. I trusted him. There were times we talked about meeting. He knew the name of my school, my town, my family. So, you think you know your online buddy? I run a forum for teenagers and I am constantly warning them about handing out personal information. They joke and say, “For all we know Matti, you are a forty year old man.” I don’t think the jokes are funny. The truth? I’ve never told them my real name. No, I’m not a forty year old man, but for all they know…I am. Most likely, if you are a teenager then you have access to instant messengers or chat rooms. Just remember that when a stranger approaches you, play it safe. Keep your last name, address, and phone number private. You would not give that information to a stranger walking down the road, so don’t give it to an online stranger. If you receive an email or PM that is upsetting, ask for help. Sometimes when we are young there are problems we are not capable of handling. Don’t try to do it alone. Find an adult in your life who you can talk to. Never meet someone you do not know. Online buddies are not the same as real-life friends. You get online and feel like you are getting to know someone. You talk about your personal live. Maybe they help you through a difficult situation. Soon, you have a feeling of closeness to this new friend. That doesn’t mean that meeting these people is a good idea. You could be putting yourself in danger. If someone asks to meet you, talk to that adult again and take their advice. You tell yourself that it will never happen to you. You trick yourself into believing that the person you are talking to is 16, tall, dark, and handsome. Pretend that he is not sixteen. Picture that the person chatting with you is a 55-year-old man who just got out of prison. Why would you do something like that? For all you know, that is who is really sitting in the chatroom with you. Don’t be dumb, play it safe. GSM Phone Rentals

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=John_Dulaney]John Dulaney However, it is most likely that your GSM phone will not work overseas. Even if you have a GSM phone, it is likely that the version that you have is different from the one used overseas. Most cellular providers will rent you a phone, compatible to the frequencies used overseas. You will need to look around for the best deal in renting, that is available in the market today. For information regarding renting, visit www.planetomni.com/RENT_INFO.shtml for more details regarding the prices of renting a quad or tri-band GSM handset. Now that you have a phone, the next is the SIM card. SIM Cards are available for all major countries in the world, and for global roaming as well. These SIM cards are prepaid, where you do not need to enter into any contract with the service provider. This prepaid SIM card will save you atleast 80% of your communication cost. All the out-going calls are charged at local rates, with free incoming calls. These cards are available with airtime credits included and are available in different denominations. The price of such a card includes the set up fee for the SIM card, which is a fixed amount, and includes the basic price of the airtime credit along-with. You have the option in buying more airtime credits along-with the card. As you use up your credit limit, you may use re-charge vouchers of varied amounts to top up your airtime credits. These credits are available in terms of the value that you have put in and not as unit of calls or time. With such a prepaid country specific SIM card, you have a lower expense for your international calls, as you do not pay for any roaming charges. To sum up the prepaid country specific and global roaming SIM cards, you generally get: A credit for a starter airtime when you buy the card. All incoming calls are free no matter where it generates from. Lower rates for international calls. No roaming charges on the calls that you make. All outgoing calls are charged at local rates. Free incoming SMS. You get that country specific number. Etc. You need to bear in mind that anyone can use your prepaid SIM card. If you lose your phone with the SIM card inside, you will need to call up the customer service to de-activate your SIM card so that no one else can use it. In this situation, your SIM card cannot be replaced. With the combination of an appropriate GSM phone and SIM card, you have a freedom to communicate anywhere and have a substantial saving as well. Though you will not be able to retain the number that you have at home, you may like to leave your new contact number in the voicemail, so that people trying to get in touch with you would know the number to get in touch with. The mobile phone that you wish to hire, will come to you with the necessary accessories like the battery charger. Most of the service providers will provide you with voicemail in your new mobile phone. If you are traveling to more than one country, you may change your country specific SIM card accordingly or better still, you may like to buy the international SIM card which will allow you to roam in most of the countries in the world, letting you have the same features or facilities as a country specific SIM card. Since your rented GSM mobile phone is given to you in an unlocked condition, you may use any SIM card that you like with that handset. On your next visit overseas, rent a SIM card for country that you are visiting with your mobile. Rent a the mobile for which-ever country you are going to and you may purchase the SIM as well. Cell phone use overseas. In 99% of the world the local cellular service standard is called GSM. We use this in the states as well. When combined with a SIM CARD (which usually goes under the battery of the phone) the phone is able to communicate and the SIM CARD also holds the telephone number and memory for pre-paid credit. Rates can be extremely low using this system. For example in 99% of all SIM CARDS incoming calls are free and calls to the states can cost a trifle. Such as, from the UK to the USA 7 cents/minute, from Israel 22 cents, from Australia 27 cents. Yes, USA Dollar cents! There are today even prepaid service providers in the USA offering rates of 10 cents per minute to call anywhere in the US to any type of phone. No contracts, no credit card checks, no bills. Pre-paid always means no minimums no contracts, no obligations. You only pay for the calls made. You’ll need an unlocked GSM tri-band or quadband UNLOCKED phone. You can buy factory unlocked phones and sim cards for more than 170 or the 193 countries on earth from http://www.planetomni.com Tel. # 800-514-2984 Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=John_Dulaney http://EzineArticles.com/?GSM-Phone-Rentals&id=294626 ultram prescription purchase tramadol online tramadol order tramadol without prescription

An Introduction To DUI

By Eddie Tobey Driving under the influence (DUI), commonly known as drunk driving, means operating a motor vehicle in a public area while intoxicated. It is considered a criminal offence to drive a vehicle after consuming alcoholic beverages. DUIs are also considered an offense when boating and piloting aircraft. Driving under the influence of alcohol is a misdemeanor, and depending upon the nature of jurisdiction, it is sometimes referred to as driving while intoxicated (DWI), operating while intoxicated (OWI) or operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (OMVI). DUI is perhaps one of the main reasons for motor vehicle crashes. The excess use of alcohol impairs the nervous system, thereby adversely affecting the balance of mind and body. While driving under the influence is regarded as a serious offense in almost all states, the punishment generally depends upon the DUI statute in the state. If you are charged with driving under the influence, blood and urine levels are first tested. Also, a breath test is administered. If it is proved that your blood alcohol content is above the legal limit set by the states statute, you will be arrested. In some states, if any one is proved to have a breath test of .08 or higher, they are said to be under the influence of alcohol. In all cases, if you are driving under the influence of alcohol, there is a good chance that you will lose your license, serve time in prison and serve a lengthy probation period. The charge could also affect future employment. DUI laws are quite complex, and offenders generally seek assistance of a competent and experienced lawyer to help them out. Offenders are generally charged large fines based on the court proceedings and test results. Usually, first-time offenders are charged a fine, and there are certain provisions to get keep punishments at a mimimum. DUI provides detailed information on DUI, DUI Lawyers, DUI Laws, DUI Defense and more. DUI is affiliated with California DUI Laws. SAT and ACT Tests

By Aaron Schwartz In general both SAT and ACT are the sets of tests aiming to check up the results after the first year in college and to get a common yardstick to use in comparing students from different academic backgrounds. Having same role in the admission process these two tests differ in their background and their structure. Traditionally the SAT was taken in the collages of the nothereast, east and the west coasts. The ACTs were taken in the schools and collages of the mid-west. But ACT tests became more widespread some time ago and most collages accept both test results now. Its considered that the SAT tests are preferred in private schools and some collages and the ACTs are usually taken in public schools and most of the collages. But there are exceptions of course and system can be different not for every state, but for each school or collage even. The ACT is more based on the school curriculum when the SAT relies on the common knowledge in different subjects. The questions in the SAT tests can be tricky sometimes and contain variants which can distract your attention. The ACTs are more straight forwarded and they usually dont have these tricky questions. In most of the states the SATs are taken seven times per year and the ACTs are taken six times. To take the SAT test you should register at least six weeks before the test and for the ACT you can register at least one month before the test These tests have same goal but they are quite very different in their structure. The ACT is traditionally described like a content-based test which specifies on the accurate answers on the concrete questions. At the same time SAT is commonly regarded as a test which needs critical thinking and problem solving abilities. Its considered to require more creative abilities also. In fact this division is not quite correct as a lot of tasks in the ACT tests also demand critical thinking or problem solving and there are many tasks in the SAT which are based on the content. But still these tests rely on different abilities and its a good deal that most of the student can choose the type of the test they prefer to show better results. There are several points that differ these tests. The SAT test consists of verbal, math and experimental sections. And the ACT test consists of English, math, reading, science reasoning and experimental sections. The SAT contains question on both algebra and geometry and ACT has only four questions on trigonometry and the rest is algebra. The ACT includes a science reasoning test; the SAT does not. The SAT tests vocabulary much more than the ACT and ACT in its turn checks English grammar and SAT doesnt. In the SAT the questions are placed in the order of difficulty and I think it helps to concentrate on the test when you pass from the easier tasks to more difficult ones. In ACT the questions dont have any order of difficulty and it can distract attention sometimes when simple things seem difficult and vice versa. But ACT tests perform the score choice which gives you the opportunity to choose the level most appropriate for you and SAT doesnt perform this choice. The SAT has penalty for the wrong answers which can be a distracter sometimes and the ACT doesnt. The ACT tests are more straight forwarded ones and can benefit students who dont like tests. But at the same time limitations in time are very serious challenge for students who dont like to work under the pressure and need more time for thinking that the rest of their mates. Nowadays there is a tendency to add SAT II Subject Tests to SAT I Reasoning Tests which means that you may be asked to take up to three SAT II test in addition to SAT I. That would take much more time and effort than the ACT test. There is only one ACT test without additional tests and variations. But its obligatory that you will be asked to take additional SAT II tests as there are a lot of schools and collages which are satisfied with SAT I results only. And there is also a number of collages which would require you to take SAT II in addition to the ACT tests. Dissertation writing Custom Essays Research papers For students who try to decided on which test to take its better to choose in advance the collage they are going to enter and to focus on the type of test which is taken or preferred in this very collage. And one should also keep in mind his strong and week points to choose the test which is more appropriate for his way of thinking and abilities. Taking both tests and comparing their results would be a very nice way to find out which one you are doing better. But of course good test results can not be achieved if you didnt prepare to them carefully. One can know the structure and style of the tests, but without knowing the subjects he or she must probably will not pass them successfully. Your Lawn - Dividing Your Lawn Up!

By Terry Blackburn Before you begin decorating your lawn, seeding, and adding plants and flowers, you should take a look at how your lawn is divided in relation to your home. Do you have a large front yard? Large back yard? And how about a side yard? This is all potential space for you to use in various ways. For example, your front yard could include: A small garden Shrubs and flowers in front of the home A small walkway to the front door Trees Your back yard could include: Gardens Places for children to play Pool Shed Pond Trees Your side yard could include: Garden Shed Serve as a walkway to the back of the home Trees These are some things you should consider before you go out and buy decorative items for your lawn. Deciding how your lawn will be used will depend mostly on your lifestyle and the amount of maintenance you want to do to make your lawn the best it can be. Many people have a nice, lush front yard, and use their backyard for children or for gardening purposes. Other people will put gravel and a driveway in their front yard. When deciding what to do with your lawn, you should: Determine how much time you can spend on upkeep How much you enjoy being outdoors Your familys needs Your budget The length of time you will be in the home Other obligations Sometimes people take on more than they can do in a day. Be sensible and realize if you are really a lazy person by nature or an industrious go-getter. Then design a lawn that will fit your needs as well as your personality. You and your lawn will appreciate you better for it. Terry Blackburn. Internet Marketing Consultant, living in South Shields in the North-East of England. Secured Loans at a Glimpse

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Parul_Makhija]Parul Makhija Gone are the days when borrowing money was considered as a taboo or a thing to be ashamed of. Taking up a loan has become the part and parcel of our daily life, largely to keep pace with todays highly expensive world. Out of the many loan options Secured Loans is one of the most popular and widely used options. And, the reasons behind it are: The approval process is simple and fast. The lenders are more than willing to offer Secured Loans. The interest rate offered is comparatively lower than unsecured loans. It helps you to make use of the equity in your property, which would have otherwise remained inactive in your property. It is often offered with more favourable terms than other types of loans. It gives you the freedom to use the loan amount as you please. Secured Loans can be used for reasons which could be any, such as, debt consolidation, home improvements, holidays, buying expensive assets et al. A Secured Loan is a type of loan which is backed by assets in order to decrease the risk assumed by the lender. A Secured Loan requests a security in the form of any particular asset thats worth money against the loan. Generally speaking Secured Loan demands your home as security. In a Secured Loan, when you put your personal property against the loan, you guarantee repayment to the lender. The interest rates on Secured Loans are lower than the rates on unsecured loans. A Secured Loan will be the best possible solution for you when you are in need of large amount of funds. However like any other type of loan Secured Loans also have its own share of pitfalls. The major one being, if you fail to make the necessary repayments, your assets may be repossessed by the lender. Therefore, it is advisable for you weigh out all the pros and cons before considering a Secured Loan as there are number of long term consequences to defaulting on a loan. Building Your Marriage: Some Thoughts From St. Paul

By Douglas Cowan, Psy.D. These verses of Scripture from St. Paul are commonly used in Christian marriage ceremonies. They speak of the relationship between Christ and the Church in terms of the relationship between a husband and his wife. As beautiful as they are, they are also very misunderstood and misinterpreted. Look closely and see their wisdom for your marriage. In Eph 5:21 to 33 Paul writes, “Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. “In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church- for we are members of his body. For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. This is a profound mystery, but I am talking about Christ and the church. However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.” There are four important points here. First, Christ loves us so much that He wants to marry us, He calls us His Bride, and He uses marriage as a picture of His relationship to the Church, and to each of us as his followers. Second, there is the “S” word. Submission. Submission does not imply INFERIORITY. God made Eve out of the side of Adam, to be bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh - his equal - his companion. To say that submission somehow implies inferiority is to say that Jesus, when he submitted to the Father, was somehow inferior to the Father. Submission does not imply inferiority in any way. It is a voluntary reliance on another. In fact, the Apostle Paul says that we are all to submit to each other. Wives to submits to husbands, husbands to wives, both to Christ. Third, husbands are to be the leaders of the family, the Pastors in the home. And men are to love their wives as Christ loves the church, and even died for it. And finally, just as Jesus is preparing his bride, the Church, for the day when she will be presented in Heaven without spot or wrinkle, so husbands, as leader, are to prepare your wives to stand before God one day. Always remember that leadership in the home is primarily a spiritual responsibility. May God richly bless your marriage.
